Good morning,

Today’s photo of a “mountain view” in the distance and a bird’s eye view of Moreau Lake comes to us from yours truly as I captured this breathtaking scene of God’s created splendor back on November 11, 2023, during a short hike with my beloved wife TammyLyn.

Well, it’s Wednesday, and I share today’s mountain view as a visual representation of our arrival at another midweek summit. So happy Humpday, and I also share to encourage us in the north to rejoice over the arrival of spring and to consider exploring God’s creation to appreciate the beauty of what God has done.

Speaking of God’s goodness, I am rejoicing this morning because I get to minister tonight at the Celebrate Freedom Support Group and because I launched another round of The Grace Course last night.   You know, there is nothing like sharing your faith experience with others to remind you of how good God has been and how He has been faithful to help us when times were bad or outcomes were uncertain.

While I never try to give false hope to those I coach or encourage, I always assure them that if they decide to follow the Lord with the way they live their lives, they will be able to face whatever outcomes they experience with confidence and peace.   The simple instruction of a life in the Spirit is to apply God’s grace to everything you do – to work with Him by doing what’s right and by asking for His assistance as you go.   When we are staying connected to the Lord, we walk through anything with hope. When we work to resolve the problems in our lives according to His principles, we can’t go too far wrong. And when we trust Him, come what may with peace.

Speaking of dealing with uncertain situations, the Turning Point with Dr. David Jeremiah talks about the way “wars and rumors of wars” can tie us into knots of stress, and I am sharing it on the blog today to encourage us to trust God to help us when things seem uncertain. David Jeremiah writes:

“STRESSOMETER

And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled.

Matthew 24:6

Do you have a device that monitors your heart rhythm, sleep patterns, daily steps, oxygen levels, and body temperature? What if you had a stressometer that could measure your anxiety levels right now? Are you calm, nervous, frightened, worried, or afraid of the future? Most of our fears have to do with the future, and we find ourselves afraid of what might happen to our loved ones or to us.

In His sermon about the Last Days, Jesus made two seemingly contradictory statements: The world will be filled with war; we are to be filled with peace. See that you are not troubled.

How do we do that? By trusting Him with the future. We may not know all that is to come, but we do know that whatever happens Jesus is on His throne and in control. The throne of heaven governs the affairs of earth and the pathway of God’s children. So don’t be troubled. Ask Him today to give you the courage to trust Him.” – David Jeremiah

To say that God is sovereign is to declare that He is the Almighty and the owner of all power in heaven and earth. No one can defeat His plans, prevent His purposes, or resist His will.  – A. W. Pink

Amen.  Wars and rumors of wars seem to be the state of our current events, leading many to prophesy about end-time implications.  Even if we don’t pay attention to the news, the rising gas prices inform us that something isn’t right.

I remember the spring of 2008 when the gas prices went up, and I speculated that if it didn’t change, a lot of people would be in trouble by the end of the year, and sure enough, I was one of them.  I didn’t know the Lord then, and I remember how the stress of rising debt and poor financial management had stolen my peace and filled me with fear.  While government bailout helped institutions- I had to work two/three jobs to bail myself out – but I still didn’t know wisdom or peace until the Lord came into my life in 2010.

Since then, I have learned a lot about being wiser with my spending and releasing habits that drove my irresponsibility.  I learned to trust God to help me and started living by His truth.

So, we are in another spring with rising gas prices and much uncertainty, but now I know that God is in control and if I follow Him and His ways, I can have peace and am assured that He will move all things together for our good.

So, trust in the Lord, make wise decisions, be a good steward of what you have, and rest in the peace that goes beyond all understanding that only He can bring.
