Bible Study with the Cincotti’s 03/07/21  

Every Sunday I attend a small Bible Study with Arthur and Suzanna
Cincotti at Rock Solid Church in Hudson NY. 
Each week Arthur prepares a short topical study, and we have a great
time discussing the things of God. Last week Suzanna suggested that we should
podcast our meetings to share our study with others to possibly encourage
others in the body of Christ.  So I

                                              Revelation

Last week
we looked at:

Deuteronomy 29:29 (NKJV)
²⁹ The secret things belong
to the LORD our God, but those things
which are revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we
may do all the words of this law.

in the context of considering the “secret” or
mysterious things.

This week we shall consider the second element of the
verse which is the “revealed” things.

Surely, nothing can be known of God except that which
revealed by God, of Himself.

God
is an expert on Himself

Some logical principles about God:

1.    He
is the only being who fully and genuinely knows who He is apart from external
revelation.

2.    He
is the only being whose cause for being is solely affected by Himself. 

 

God has said in:

Job 41:11 (NKJV)
¹¹ Who has preceded Me, that I
should pay him? Everything under heaven is Mine.

 

And

Psalm 50:12 (NKJV)
¹² “If I were hungry, I would not
tell you; For the world is Mine, and all its fullness.

 

Finally, Paul said about God in:

 

Acts
17:24-25 (NKJV)
²⁴ God, who made the world and
everything in it, since He is Lord of heaven and earth, does not dwell in
temples made with hands.
²⁵ Nor is He worshiped with men’s
hands, as though He needed anything, since He gives to all life, breath, and
all things.

 

I
think we get the picture

 

Hebrews 7:7 gives
us an important principle that we can apply here:

⁷ Now beyond all contradiction the
lesser is blessed by the better.

 

Our greatest
blessing in life is that God would reveal Himself to us. All knowledge of God
condescends from Him. 

 

Notions of God
derived from our own observations or opinions only give way to false religions,
creating God in our image.

 

God reveals
Himself as He sees fit.

          We have been learning, upstairs, about
Joseph, God revealed Himself in a dream, and then by causing it to come to
pass.

          To Abraham, in a series of undefined
encounters.

          To Jacob, in a night vision.

          To Moses, in the bush, and with a
voice.

          To Samuel, with a voice calling his name.

          To the prophets, with often undescribed
knowings.

          In these last times, by His Son.

 

Hebrews 1:1-2 (NKJV)
¹ God, who at various times and in
various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets,
² has in these last days spoken to
us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom
also He made the worlds;

 

Colossians
1:15 (NKJV)
¹⁵ He is the image of the invisible
God, the firstborn over all creation.

 

Colossians
1:19 (NKJV)
¹⁹ For it pleased the Father
that in Him all the fullness should dwell,

 

Luke 10:22

²² All
things have been delivered to Me by My Father, and no one knows who the Son is
except the Father, and who the Father is except the Son, and the one to
whom the Son wills to reveal Him.”

 

Galatians
1:15-16 (NKJV)
¹⁵ But when it pleased God, who
separated me from my mother’s womb and called me through His grace,

¹⁶ to reveal His Son in me,
that I might preach Him…
