Good morning,
Today’s photo of the sun breaking through the branches of trees over an unknown forest trail comes to us from an unknown FB friend who shared this epic scene on social media back on June 3, 2023. Well, It’s Thursday and I share this pathway photo as a visual reminder to get on or to stay on the path of Christian discipleship where the only thing better than seeing the beauty of God’s creation is when you get to see the Lord’s creative work in those you meet along the way.
Last night I was happy to learn that one of the men who attends the Celebrate Freedom Support Group prayed the prayer to make Jesus his Lord and Savior over the weekend at one of Starpoint Church’s Sunday services and even got himself a “new believer’s packet” – which is a little gift bag contains a Bible and other Christian materials to further equip new believers on their entry into the kingdom.
This of course is wonderful news. This is something I hoped for, and this is something I prayed for, and Lord was faithful to answer that prayer!
This individual had regularly attended our support group meeting an several occasion but was unwilling to make a decision for Christ, but we were patient and encouraging and the Lord did His work in this man’s heart. We supported this man in his recovery regardless of his confession of faith and I even had the privilege of sitting with him at church on a couple occasions to encourage his “seeking”. And because he was sincerely seeking, the Lord revealed Himself to this man in such away to cause Him step forward this past Sunday to put His faith in Jesus.
Of course that happened on Sunday, and I didn’t know about it yesterday. As it turns out, before I found out, I got a text from a brother to let me know that this “unsaved individual” wouldn’t be at our meeting last night because he had a court date and was possibly facing jail time and was asking for prayers for a good outcome on his behalf. So, I prayed and texted this “unsaved man” to let them know that I was praying for him, which he responded to with thanks. I was hoping that the Lord would come through for Him but figured I wouldn’t know until next week.
But sometimes good news can’t wait. Shortly after our meeting started last night, this “unsaved man” walked through the door and during his check in he shared that the Lord had helped him with leniency in court and he shared how he had put his faith in Jesus!
For those counting at home, that’s WIN, WIN, WIN! I was happy he made it to the meeting! I was thrilled with the good outcome at court. And I was positively filled with joy to hear this “unsaved” was no longer unsaved. He’s my brother in Christ and I am, once again, rejoicing over how good God is! It makes me want to sing!
Speaking of singing, the Turning Point with Dr. David Jeremiah devotion for today speaks about that topic and I am sharing it on the blog today to encourage us all to sing to the Lord! Dr. David Jeremiah writes:
GIVE TODAY A SONG!
Let the heavens rejoice, and let the earth be glad; and let them say among the nations, “The Lord reigns.” – 1 Chronicles 16:31
Fanny Crosby wrote thousands of hymns, though only a few are sung today (such as “Blessed Assurance” and “To God Be the Glory”). One of her forgotten hymns says, “Sing when the birds are waking, sing with the morning light; sing in the noontide’s golden beam, sing in the hush of night.”
When we sing throughout the day, we’re reflecting the worship of heaven. When we sing with other believers in worship services, we’re joining the choirs of heaven. We need to enjoy a wide range of music in our worship services—from classic hymns to modern praise and worship. If the words glorify God and reflect biblical truth, sing them with gusto. Learn the old hymns. Sing the new music.
Reflect the joy of heaven and let your heart be glad. Say and sing to the nations, “The Lord reigns!” Be filled with the Spirit and overflow with praise. Give today a song!” – David Jeremiah

Amen. Just reading about praising the Lord in song makes me want to sing!
An old mishmash blending of hymns from my old church came to mind and it went something like this.
“There is a fountain full of grace that flows from Immanuel’s veins.
He came and He healed me.
He came and redeemed me.
He came and washed my sins away!
I will rejoice!
I will rejoice!
And be glad!!!!”
And repeat…. Forever!
If you think sing praises to the Lord is “not cool” or think it is beneath you, you are missing what you need the most – an experiential expression of joy that is grounded in the love of God and spiritual reality of your salvation and freedom.
The gospel is good news after all!
I don’t know why (I do, God’s love for us), but God chose to forgive us from every terrible thing we have ever done. Not only that, but God also pick us specifically to be in His family and to live with Him for evermore. He chose us to be on His championship winning team to always experience freedom and victory.
So, get over yourself, turn away from world’s songs that glorify sin, and turn the Christian music – agree with the Biblical messages that they proclaim and Sing!
We have been forgiven and blessed with eternal life. We safe from God’s wrath and welcomed into His eternal family! We have a cause to rejoice, and we have a reason to sing!
So, sing and let the joy of the Lord be your strength, every single day!

Then all of you can join together with one voice, giving praise and glory to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, accept each other just as Christ has accepted you so that God will be given glory.
Today’s verses fall under the twenty third point of our counseling reference guide resource section on Peacemakers – Peacekeepers.
23. Accept others in the spirit of unity even while you strongly disagree with them on disputable matters. The primary goal is to glorify the Lord.
Today’s Bible verses encourage us to be encouraging and patient with one another and to strive to live in complete harmony with one another as Christians, and to accept one another as Jesus Christ accepted us.
Its from receiving the love of the Lord and His acceptance where we are supposed to live. Because we have been forgiven, we can forgive. Because He was patient with us, we can be patient. Because He was patient with us, we can be patient. And we as the body of Christ, live this way we can find harmony and gather together to sing the Lord’s praise.
So, be a light that shines in the darkness and make peace and harmony the gift you bring to your local church and everywhere you go.

Why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit? – Acts 5:3
Peter was not asking this question to gain information. There is a way of using a “Why” question that is merely for emphasis (see the “Why” questions of Jesus, which were always of this sort). Peter knew the answer to the question. He was simply putting strong pressure on Ananias to think through the heinous nature of the lie that he uttered. He said that fundamentally it wasn’t a lie to the church (though it was that), but a lie to God (v. 4). But note, he also said the lie was to the Holy Spirit. This passage makes it clear that the Holy Spirit is God, since the two are used interchangeably by Peter without any special thought. It was natural for him to treat the Spirit as God. The very natural, unstudied, interchangeable use of these terms is strong evidence for the deity of the third person of the Trinity! You, too, have a relationship to the Spirit Who dwells within every true believer. Be sure not to grieve Him through lies or anything else that you speak.[1]
