Good morning,
Today’s photo of a seaside view of the green hump of Cowell Hill underneath a blue sky dotted with clouds comes to us from yours truly as I captured this serene scene while being ferried to St. John’s Beach during my off-ship excursion to St. Thomas back on December 31st of 2025.
Well, it’s Wednesday, and I share this view of Cowell Hill to visually represent our arrival to another midweek summit (already?!), so Happy Hump Day, and to encourage us all to boldly go to new places as we continue to seek the Lord and His will for our lives in 2026.
As much as I may regret some of the choices I made during my recent vacation, see yesterday’s confession, I don’t regret deciding to go because of the beautiful things I was able to experience, the quality time I spent with my wife, and because of the lessons I learned from the David Jeremiah conference and the books I read during the trip. So even though the cruise had some regrettable consequences to my weight and wallet, I don’t regret going because of the memories that were created and because it helped me to be reminded of what really matters and what truly contributes to my health and happiness. As much as the cruise had to offer in food and entertainment, I come back from it knowing that my peace, joy, and safety come from the Lord.
I have one day of food plan success under my belt now and I ready to launch the new season of the Celebrate Freedom Support Group with the earnest assurance that our success in life comes from agreeing with God’s word and doing what it says: to focus on the things of God rather than the things of this world and to do the practices that feed the spirit rather than doing the things that satisfy the flesh.
Even after one day of successful repentance, I feel so much better and know that the safety of my soul lies in rejecting the lies of the world, the flesh, and the devil and deciding to abide in the truth of Jesus Christ and following where the Lord leads me into physical, mental, and spiritual health.
Speaking of finding our safety in the Lord. The Turning Point with Dr. David Jeremiah devotion is entitled “Standing on Home Plate” and I am sharing it on the blog today to encourage us all to fully invest ourselves in God’s kingdom purposes for our lives. David Jeremiah writes:
“STANDING ON HOME PLATE
And not only as we had hoped, but they first gave themselves to the Lord, and then to us by the will of God. – 2 Corinthians 8:5
One day when twelve-year-old David Grant went with his father to a church service, a missionary named Charles Greenaway made an appeal for Christ. When the ushers later passed the offering plate, young David put it on the floor and stepped in it. The Lord seemed to say to him, “David, you will go to India.” In the decades that followed, David Grant had a powerful missionary career.
We all need to step into the offering plate, at least in a figurative sense. Paul commended the churches of Macedonia for more than just giving to the offering he was collecting for the poverty-stricken Jews of Judea. The Macedonians first gave themselves to the Lord.
Before we give our resources to God, we must first give ourselves, recognizing that we belong to God and that all we have is already His. Why don’t you take a stand for Christ by offering to Him all you are and have. Each day ask God to navigate your path. – David Jeremiah
When the Holy Spirit passes the offering plate, step in…. God is not so much interested in your money; He’s interested in you. – David Grant
Amen. One of the complaints from nonbelievers and some hard-hearted (or hardheaded) “Christians” is that “the only thing the church wants is your money.”
This attitude reveals some serious ignorance or hardness of heart and could be evidence of a false convert – someone who will be genuinely shocked when Jesus rejects their entrance into His kingdom, as someone He never knew.
While the distrust of our fellow man and of those in authority may be understandable at times, when we decide to follow Jesus, we are called to trust Him with our entire being; we are called to surrender all that we are into His care and service.
If we are holding back certain areas of our lives or putting limits on what we will do for God, we will be limited in what we receive from the Lord.
While I am not going to suggest how much you should put into the collection plate each week, I would highly recommend making the decision to give all of yourself to the pursuit of God’s will for your life.
Knowing the Lord is the purpose of our existence, and we can never give enough of ourselves for all that we receive in Christ.

Today’s Bible verse speaks of the simple truth about where we will find our salvation – by simply calling on the name of the Lord, Jesus Christ, as our Lord and Savior.
The beauty of the gospel lies in its simplicity and the amazing grace that is received through faith. All we need to do is to put our faith in Jesus and call on His name to save us, and we receive a new everlasting life in Christ.
Calling on the name of the Lord saves us the first time we put our faith in Jesus, but calling on His name also leads us to our peace and purpose in Christ. So call on His name every day to guide you in the way you should go.

A prisoner coming to Rome for trial before the Emperor, but “escorted” into the city by Christian brothers who wished to honor Paul: think of it. The love of believers for one another has been manifested in many ways and times over the years, but surely this instance stands out. Men who might have been afraid of associating with Paul openly came to greet him on his way to prison! The great apostle who poured out his life in service to the Lord, and as result suffered many trials and dishonoring treatments, is honored at last—late in our eyes perhaps, but precisely on time by God’s schedule. Would you have been among those who went? Think a moment before you answer. It meant danger, possible loss, or even death. We must honor those to whom honor is due. Paul, of all men, fits that description.[1]
