Good morning,

Today’s photo of “the cross”  of a Waite Road utility pole in the foreground of the first light of morning rising over the mountains in the distance comes to us from yours truly as I captured this scene that seems to be foreshadowing of the coming of Resurrection Sunday comes to us from yours truly as I pause to capture the beauty of the moment during a morning stroll last Sunday.

Well, it’s Holy Saturday and I am rejoicing this morning because I have plans to go to a Saturday Easter Service at my local church (I believe) and to have dinner with my in-laws later today.  I am also uplifted because I spent some real quality time with my heavenly Father this morning in prayer.

I have regular daily spiritual practice of Bible Study and prayer every day but occasionally the Lord will lead me to deviate from the normal routine to consider new things. This morning the Lord led me to pick up Neil Anderson’s book, “Praying by The Holy Spirit” and it was used to remind me of the importance of giving thanks (practicing gratitude) during prayer as a means to hear God’s voice.  Anderson’s scripture filled with passages moved me to stop reading and to start giving thanks and praying.  As I prayed, the Lord moved me to consider a certain brother who had experienced a devastating loss recently. The Lord revealed to me that He was aware of the particulars of the situation and that He had moved things the events to their seemingly tragic end for the good of all those involved.  A life was lost but claimed by God for the kingdom and the Lord wanted me to assure my brother in Christ that God had seen him in his pain and wanted to let him know he wasn’t alone in his suffering.

So, I found myself being to compel my brother with my “word from the Lord” disrupting all of my regular routine.  I was feeling uncertain about whether or not I should that message but then as I wrote it, I realized that my message to my brother was not only highly appropriate for his situation, my comforting words could also be applied to things that I and others have suffered through in the past.  The words or comfort were fitting for my friend and for all who suffer loss.

When God takes someone from us into death, it is a mercy of divine grace as they leave this world of sin and death and go to a place of magnificent love and life.   To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord and that is the best place we can be.

We are never more whole than we are in the presence of the Lord and even though we may view death as something to grieve, the truth is that our departed loved ones enter into life everlasting.

Speaking of wholeness in the presence of the Lord, the In Touch with Dr. Charles Stanely devotion from March 26th, 2026, spoke on that topic so I am sharing it on the blog today to remind us of the wholeness that is found in the Lord’s presence.

“Becoming Whole

Hardship is inevitable in life, but the Holy Spirit helps believers survive and heal.

Romans 8:33-39

Modern society has many solutions for unhappiness, but worldly “happiness” will inevitably falter. Only God’s transforming power can change someone with a broken spirit into a content Christ follower who understands his or her own value.

To find wholeness, a person must start by receiving Jesus as Savior—for that to occur, the sin that stands between him and God has to be wiped away. Then, with the Holy Spirit’s strength, he’ll be able to find the courage to confront past disappointments, hurts, and sins that perhaps left him feeling unworthy.

Someone with a sense of wholeness feels satisfied with life. Hardship is inevitable in this world, but it doesn’t devastate the born-again believer. Why? Because he knows God has promised to work everything out for his good (Romans 8:28).

In contrast, someone who feels fragmented or empty often has the opposite experience. He may look okay on the outside while struggling within. This can even be the case with Christians who haven’t learned to experience God’s love fully.

The Lord can and will make His love known to believers who ask. And through it comes the wholeness that they have been seeking.” – Charles Stanley

Amen.  As we move toward the joy of Resurrection Sunday, I pray that your relationship with the Lord grows with a fresh experience of His love for you.

“Easter” traditions and the contemplation of the dead coming to life may be one of the most confusing and challenging things to process for new and old believers a like.  So instead of being triggered by thoughts of pagan symbolism or archaic religious ceremonies that fail to touch us, I encourage all of us to remember when Jesus called us “out of our graves” individually – those times or moments when God revealed to you the truth of your need for a Savior or when you received heavenly comfort, wisdom, and strength.

The best proof of the resurrection isn’t the empty tomb. The best proof that Jesus is alive is the fact that He has come into your life to give you hope, peace, joy, wisdom, strength, and love.

Jesus is alive. He showed up in your life to reveal Himself and to give you salvation, the forgiveness of sins, and eternal life in His kingdom.  But that’s not all, He is still with you today.

Through the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit, the Lord will bless you when you seek His presence and His pathway.  So keep walking by faith, and live in the power of the resurrection, to know His love and to represent His kingdom, all the days of your life.
